Project Description

The Rotary Club of Birtamode Midtown successfully conducted a CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) Training Program at Purwanchal Cancer Hospital, with the objective of equipping participants with essential life-saving skills and practical knowledge to respond effectively during cardiac emergencies.

The program was jointly organized in collaboration with the Nepal Heart Foundation, BNC Medical College, Rotary Club of Surunga, Rotaract Club of Birtamode Midtown, and Rotaract Club of Birtamode.

A major highlight of the program was its strong focus on practical, hands-on training. Expert trainers first explained the fundamentals of CPR, including how to recognize a cardiac emergency, assess an unresponsive person, call for emergency assistance, and perform effective chest compressions.

Following the demonstration, all participants were given the opportunity to practice CPR individually on training dummies under the direct guidance and supervision of experts. This hands-on approach helped participants understand the correct technique, compression position, depth, rhythm, and overall procedure rather than limiting the session to theoretical learning.

The program created awareness about the importance of immediate CPR and emphasized how timely intervention by an ordinary bystander can make a crucial difference before professional medical assistance arrives.

Through this collaborative initiative, the participating organizations aimed to build a more CPR-aware and emergency-ready community, empowering individuals with practical skills that can potentially save a life during a critical situation.
